Doctor & Hospital Neglect
This includes injuries caused to you by the neglect of your Doctor or Hospital.
Every health professional owes a duty of care to their patients. A medical accident can happen if there is a breach of that duty. The law does not seek perfection, but as a patient you are entitled to expect reasonable care. If your treatment fell short of what you were reasonably entitled to expect, which caused you injury, then you should claim compensation.
As well as delivering a reasonable standard of healthcare doctors are also obliged to ensure that you properly understand all the risks associated with any treatment, including surgery, so that you can give your informed consent to that treatment. If you are not given appropriate information then your treating doctor may be in breach of this duty to you and your consent to the treatment may be invalidated.
We have dealt with many cases involving:
- Failure to diagnose and/or treat a treatable condition
- Errors in surgery and radiology
- Birth injuries arising from obstetric failures
- Failing to advise you correctly on all the risks associated with any treatment you were to receive, e.g., surgery, and wrongly prescribed drugs
- Cerebral Palsy and Child Brain Injury
- Orthopaedics
- Cosmetic Surgery
- Hospital Infections - MRSA and C Diff
- Opthalmic and Laser Eye Surgery
- Inquests
